At Last, A Pimped Shed!

Well, the shed is officially "pimped." I caulked the trim yesterday, finished a little project tied to it (for another post) and the mother will be touching up with paint today.

MG and CD -- Remember all those vinyl PVC boards you hauled to This D*mn House? Well, they're all up! Remember that ugly puckered spot on the left back corner? (In case you don't, here's a before shot.)
Well, I hope that even having a huge piece of vinyl lattice hanging over CD's 5-year-old's head seems worth it when you see this.

It's not a tiki bar (dammit!), but with any luck, it will still be standing this time next year and not crumbling.

The total cost was a little over $300 -- and that included putting a vinyl board on each side of the front of the shed where the walls were in particularly bad shape.

Based on this, it would seem that "Pimp My Shed" is not canceled, but merely on hiatus ... with a new season starting next spring.

What's the round wire frame?

Looks great - well worth Drew wearing it on his head. Don't give up on the Tiki Bar transformation. With all of the work you do, I would think a bar at home would be a necessity.

Dee -- That is our old log rack. Since we converted the fireplace to gas back in January, it's now obsolete, yet the mother refuses to turn loose of it. Go figure.

CD -- Thanks, buddy! Actually, there WAS a bar in the house. It was all cheap and nasty though. I ripped it out when we redid the basement.

upstate -- Thanks! That was the mother's idea. I think it looks good and it saved about $60.

Jennifer -- Thanks. I'm hoping that next summer the word ENJOY is a verb I frequently use where the house is concerned. :-)

Ann -- Thanks. I'm a little proud of it. It sure took long enough!

Wow, that looks really nice. I have a seriously ugly metal shed in my back yard that's right up against the back of the house. It's the reason the back wall of my house is still shingled. Next spring, I'm tearin' it down!

Dude, your property taxes are so going up when the accessor sees that. You'll have to invite him to the tiki party.

Jayne -- Thanks! We priced sheds, the not metal kind, to replace this one. Getting one of similar ilk or maybe one step above would be about $1,600-$2,000! HOLY CRAP!
So even if I put another $300 into this one next year, I'm still ahead by a grand.

V -- Ouch! That made me laugh though. Maybe I can get the assessor drunk and get my taxes lowered ... :-)

I've been following your progress on this project, but never dreamed it would come out looking so awesome! You should be really proud of yourself! Someone could LIVE in that shed!

I see that old log rack as holding a trough (or whatever they call those things) filled with wave petunias in the spring! Gorgeous!

Very impressive curb appeal for the shed now. I like how you used what you had!

Star -- Thanks! Glad you've been stopping by egularly. I don't know about living in it. It's pretty full right now. Even a gnome would be crowded. :-)

Karin -- Thank you! My hope is that the log rack is GONE by then. We'll see if I win.

Susie -- Thanks! Isn't BPOTW great? Meeting so many new folks this way!

Joy -- Thanks! can't take all the credit there. That was the mother's plan. :-)

I Love Purple More Than You said...

VERY impressive! I love the upgrades. (visiting from BPOTW)
