Stood Up

The mother's friends stood her up today. I felt bad for her.

One of her friends' mothers, who is now around 90, kept calling her every five minutes while she and the other friend were on their way. They never made it here.

It was a seriously busy day at work and being worn out before I ever got started didn't help much. Then, once I survived the day and made it home, I turned around and left and went to get things so I don't have to do it tomorrow in the snow.

Yes, I said snow. I mean it was 70 two days ago and almost 70 the next day. Why wouldn't it snow?

On that note, I'm calling it a day and a night.

I'm sorry your Mom was disappointed. It's tough getting places when you're ninety, though.

I've started stocking up a closet with stuff so I can avoid last minute trips and also get thru the first part of whatever disaster I think at the moment is going to befall us.

Darn them! I'm sorry they stood her up, that is disappointing. Yes, this weather is NUTS! We had three wonderful days of spring weather and then BOOM - snow & ice today. Totally crazy - but at least this time we didn't lose power. Keep warm!

Karen Anne -- Yeah, she was kind of bummed. It's the friend's mother who is 90. I guess she decided she couldn't be left alone that long. I wish I had a closet to stock stuff up IN. :-)

C&C -- The weather IS nuts.

Jayne -- Thanks!

NV, Talking about Storage Envy, my cousins down the street rebuilt their garage with an entire room above it for storage. Aghh.

Do you have a root cellar? Then I would be in Storage Envy overdrive. My Mom used to keep her preserves on shelf after shelf in the basement of the old house. Basement, what's a basement...

Oh, I feel bad for your mom! She obviously was looking forward to them coming over. Hopefully they can make it up to her soon.

KA -- No root cellar. We do have a finished basement and then a partially finished laundry room. Without that, we'd really be sunk. We now have two closets down there. Both jam-packed of course.

V -- Yeah, she was bummed. I felt bad for her, too.
