Va*cay*shun

I finally put in for some vacation time. I had pondered taking the latter half of this week, but work came my way.

In fact, the project is going much better than I expected it to. (LOVE when that happens. Hope I haven't jinxed myself now!) Now, if only it can all come to fruition. Is that the sweet smell of success I’m picking up? Crossing fingers …

I’ll be off starting next Friday afternoon and not return until the following Thursday. Here’s hoping the weather will work in my favor and I can get a lot done! I'd really rather be kickin' it on a beach somewhere, but if wishes were fishes and all that.

One thing that has to be done before then: mow the lawn. That stuff is really starting to get out of control. Have you had your first mow of the season yet? If not, how high is your grass?

The snow finally left our yard a few days ago. We are several weeks away from our 'first mow.' :)

Cut it today, it was pretty high.

I haven't mowed my yard yet...because a great deal of the grass is dead. I was bad and didn't rake the mounds of leaves in the yard all autumn and winter. Last week I finally paid someone to do it. No more leaves. But not much grass, either.

No. Actually, I let the husband mow but I try to trim around the edges. It's getting kind of crazy and out of control and the backyard is a mess of tree sheddings. We don't get snow so the grass has been growing for a while. But he's on a tight deadline with the house renovation and I've been trying to catch up from being sick and then had to do taxes and a boatload of laundry and still unpacking the stuff that's been in storage.

But this weekend, my friend, this weekend I'll be back at the yard work. Right after I take the car in for its oil change.

Nope, haven't mowed yet, ain't-a gonna for a while. Grass is getting up there, but the earth beneath it is still squishy to my bare feet, much less the tractor tires. There have been years when I haven't mowed until June, but since this *IS* a dry April so far, I might make it one of these days. Just not this weekend.

WoW! What a contrast in responses. The mother thought I was going to mow today. Um RAIN. Hello!

Not mowing.
