Thank you, C-SPAN2

Courtesy of C-SPAN2, I got to see the swearing in and the inaugural address in its entirety. So, I feel all caught up now. I also still feel like crap in a sack so I'll be spending another day in bed. Here's hoping this is the last of that, too.

The speech was powerful though not his strongest. But in that speech, and in all his exchanges throughout the evening, our new president repeatedly asked for everyone to be engaged and involved. I have never heard anyone ask so much for a true government by and of the people. Now it's time to get to work and see if the effort can outpace the rhetoric.

I'm way behind on reading blogs but I'm sure there's a lot out there from those of you who got to see it all in real time and I'm looking forward to reading those.

As for me, I can honestly say that I can't think of a time in my life where these words have ever meant more to me:
One nation, Under God
Indivisible
With Liberty and Justice
For All.

Yeah, there's plenty of people out there who aren't feelin' it and I can't help but feel a bit sorry for them. It's going to take as much effort from as many of us as possible to turn things around and I for one am signing on, ready and willing to do my part. Right after I blow my nose.

They brought some TVs to our cafeteria at work so I was able to watch both Biden & Obama take their oaths and then watch Obama's speech. Very moving on a lot of levels. We recorded it at home & I watched it with the Mr last night and found it just as moving the second time around. I'm signing up too NV. It's time.

And I do hope you are feeling better today.

Feel better! You did the same thing I did--watch the inauguration almost in its entirety hours after it happened. Gotta love CSPAN and CNN! I heard on the news this morning that the University of Kansas Medical Center's computer system had some troubles yesterday for about 30 minutes, due to so many employees watching the inauguration coverage online. :)

I hope you and the mother start to feel better soon! And I'm glad you finall got to see the ceremonies. I'm happy that he's calling for Americans to act, truly, I just don't think it's the government's job to pay for all of the bennies he wants to dole out. Time will tell if his rhetoric is powerful enough to move us.

Jen -- Yep. It's kickin' my butt for now. Thanks!

MM --Thanks. It's gonna be a slow process for both this country and beatin' up this damn bug!

Jayne -- Yep. I couldn't be satisfied until I got to see it. I got to see the Neighborhood Ball live but kept flippin' back to CSPAN to see if the ceremony had started yet!

V -- Thanks, unfortunately, I think she now has the bug. Ugh. Yep. I see movement already as of Day One. Git 'er done, Barack!
