I’m a sucker for snacks. I tend to go in cycles where I have one or two things for a while before switching to something else as my “regular” treat. For the last week or so, I’ve been addicted to something I’m calling Halloween Mix. (Yeah. Not original.)

At our all-day scrapbooking event earlier this month, fancy hand-made boxes featured a mix of peanuts and candy corn that, once I rediscovered it at home, I couldn’t stay out of. Once that was gone, I wanted more. So I made my own. It’s quick. It’s simple. It’s good. But be warned: It’s addictive!

Here’s what you need:
1 big or 2 small bags of Brach’s Autumn Mix (Couple types of candy corn with the little crème pumpkins. These are on sale at Walgreens this week!)
1 jar Planter’s dry-roasted peanuts
¼ to ½ cup of raisins (I err on the larger portion.)

I put all this in one of those rectangular Ziploc containers, snap the lid in place, shake the hell out of it and voila! Instant seasonal trail mix. And, a perfect combo of sweet and salty in a single serving. You may even want to monkey with it and tweak to your own tastes. For now though, I think I’m sticking with this blend.

Just remember, I warned ya.

Sounds great But I would have to have choc. I am trying not to pig out so going to stay away from this wonderful sounding mix.

I'm so sorry you gave the recipe. I was trying to ignore the idea of Halloween Mix. Now I will have to fight the urge to shop at Walgreens for candy corn! And little pumpkins! At least the raisins and peanuts might have a little bit of nutritional value! Enjoy!

Ahem...I believe this sounds scarily familiar to an Autumn Mix that your dear friend PB makes every year and has even tried to market (but you left out a few key secret ingredients.)

Enjoy your knock off version and don't let the missing secret ingredients haunt you...boooooooo!

You need to stop coming up with such good suggestions for me to spend money!

YUM! I think I'd have to add some chocolate chips to it, too. Honestly, I don't know if I can stay out of the Autumn Mix long enough to mix it all together. lol

Yum! My kind of addiction, but I would have to add m&ms!

I had the goodies from the box tucked away safely from my lips until you posted this. I grab the goodies as I headed for the airport yesterday and then couldn't keep my hands from dipping in the bag all night in my hotel room!
